THE HOLINESS OF WOOD

People who believe in God, the Bucovina people have always taken care of their churches, have always been preoccupied with making them as beautiful as possible and with decorating the churches with objects of  worship.

Wood was also the material used for everything enumerated above. Thus, the icons were painted on wood, the iconostasis and the veil were and still are mainly made of sculptured wood, along with the pews and the whole furniture inside the church.

The bell towers are special constructions manufactured on a system of beams and poles capable of resisting the weight of the bells and the vibrations. Beside all these, there is a multitude of other larger objects, such as Trinities, or smaller ones, such as crucifixes, candlesticks, book rests, chandeliers and many more.
